Law for the consumer

Overview

Everyone has rights when buying goods and services but few know exactly what their rights are.  This afternoon seminar tells you what you are entitled to from shops and business and how to go about getting it!  Topics include:

·         An Introduction to Trading Standards;

·         Buying over the phone or internet;

·         What to do about shoddy goods;

·         Unfair terms in consumer contracts; and

·         What to do about dangerous goods.

Consumers (that means you!), and anyone who advises consumers.

 

Cost

FREE to individuals in the Govan area.

£25 for Voluntary Organisations.

£35 for Statutory Bodies and Solicitors.

All prices are inclusive of VAT.

3.20pm – 4pm: Dangerous goods (criminal prosecution & product liability)

4pm – 4.30pm: Questions to all Speakers

Cancellation policy: Full refund where cancellation is received within 2 weeks of the event; after this point 90% refund is payable; however, no refund is payable for cancellations received or intimated on the date of the event.
