Employment Law and Health & Safety Law for Voluntary Groups

Monday 6 November 2000, Pearce Institute, 840 Govan Road, Glasgow

Voluntary organisations are Scotland's third sector, providing essential services to the community. Many voluntary organisations employ staff. If you're on the management committee of an unincorporated voluntary organisation - you're their employer.

What are your employment law duties as an employer? What responsibilities do you have for the health and safety of employees? Who is liable in a redundancy situation?

This half-day community work-shop will examine the legal responsibility of management committee members with respect to employment and health & safety law generally.

Speakers - Barry Baker, Health & Safety Executive and Nicola Smith, Associate Solicitor, GLC.

Cost - £35 (£25 voluntary organisations; Free to local residents in Govan).
