Govan
Law Centre (GLC) provides a range of free specialist money advice
services within the south west of Glasgow. Advice &
representation is undertaken by qualified solicitors, and regulated
by the Law Society of Scotland.
Where
queries can be better dealt with by a generalist money advice agency
our policy is to make appropriate referrals.
Prospective
solicitors undertake 3 or 4 years full-time under-graduate legal
study (LLB), followed by 1 year full-time post-graduate study (Dip
LP), followed by a legal apprenticeship over 2 years.
No
solicitor can practice on his or her own account until they have 3
years of qualified experience.
GLC
operates a robust internal complaints policy, and externally
complaints are independently adjudicated by the Law Society of
Scotland, and the Legal Services Ombudsman for Scotland.
GLC
adheres to the Law Society of Scotland's recommended quality
assurance and risk management practice. Over and above this GLC
has an internal quality assurance scheme. |
