Dr. Archie Roy is a Post-16 Education Officer with the RNIB. He provides support for blind and partially sighted students in further, higher and continuing education in Scotland and Northern Ireland. This support includes study skills, teaching strategies, specialist equipment and additional curriculum support.

Anne Metcalfe and Anne Kane are family support workers with the Scottish Spina Bifida Association. The Association works with individuals with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus and seeks to increase public awareness and understanding of individuals with Spina Bifida or Hydrocephalus and allied disorders. In the further and higher education sphere, it aims to secure provision for their special needs and those of their families.

Tourette Syndrome (UK) Association develops and disseminates educational material to individuals, professionals and others in the fields of further and higher education and co-ordinates Family Networking and other services to help people and their families to cope with the problems that occur with TS. It also assists with the funding of research that will ultimately find the cause of and cure for TS and, at the same time, lead to improved medications and treatments.

Iain Nisbet is the Associate Solicitor at Govan Law Centre. He has a particular interest and expertise in cases relating to Part 4 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and was the legal adviser (Scots Law) for the Post-16 Code of Practice.

Tony Askham

Tony Askham

Tony Askham is a Partner and Head of Commercial Litigation at Bond Pearce Solicitors. He specialises (among other things) in education law. He is an accredited mediator, Chairman of the Solicitors European Group and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He was the legal adviser (English Law) for the Post-16 Code of Practice.

Morag Steven is a conciliator with the independent Disability Concilaition Service, which conciliates cases under Part 4 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. She is also the mediation consultant for Govan Law Centre, working exclusively on Special Educational Needs cases.

Ros Micklem is the Principal of Cardonald College in Glasgow. The College has an Extended Learning Support programme and offers disabled students a wide range of auxiliary aids and services at its accessible campus. The College has been awarded the "Positive about Disability" standard.

Maggie Dickson is an Assistant Solicitor at Govan Law Centre and is acknowledged as an expert in the field of disability law. She specialises in discrimination cases and has a particular interest in disability caused by mental impairment.

Student Awards Agency for Scotland

The Student Awards Agency for Scotland is an executive agency of the Scottish Executive's Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Department. It is the funding body for Scottish students taking higher education courses anywhere in the UK. The SAAS adminsters the award of Disabled Students Allowance for qualifying students.
